How can we help?

Answers to the questions hosts ask most — from launching your Circl to getting paid. Can't find it? We're an email away.

Getting started

How do I create a Circl?

Hit “Create a Circl” from the top of any page, give it a name, category, and location, and you’re live. You can refine everything later in your dashboard under Circl settings.

Is it free to host?

Yes — there’s no subscription and no per-member fee. Circl only earns a small cut when you sell a paid membership or an event ticket. See the Pricing page for the full picture.

How do members find my Circl?

Public Circls appear on Explore and in search. Private Circls stay hidden and are shared with a secure invite link — switch between the two anytime under Settings → Membership rules → Visibility.

Members & applications

How do join applications work?

Under Settings → Membership rules → Joining, choose whether people apply or join automatically. When applications are on, requests land in Members → Requests for you to approve or decline.

Can I ask new members questions?

Yes. In the same Joining section you can build a custom application form — short answers, multiple choice, checkboxes, and more — and review every answer before approving.

How do I manage or remove members?

Open the Members page in your dashboard to see your roster, spot at-risk or highly engaged members, and manage anyone’s access.

Events & calendar

How do I create an event?

Go to Events in your dashboard and choose “New event.” Set the date, time, location, and capacity, and it appears on your shared calendar and your members’ feeds.

Can I sell tickets?

Yes. Mark an event as ticketed and set a price — or split it into named ticket tiers (say General and VIP), each with its own price. Members pay at checkout and you can scan passes at the door. On a tiered event, a member’s pass or credits cover the lowest tier and they only pay the difference for a higher one. Free events stay free — Circl only takes a cut of paid tickets.

Do members get reminders?

Automatic nudges go out ahead of each event to the people who RSVP’d. You’ll see upcoming reminders summarized right on your dashboard Overview.

Payments & payouts

How does Circl make money?

Circl keeps a small cut of paid memberships and event tickets you sell — nothing else. No monthly subscription, no per-member fee, and members never pay Circl directly.

When do I get paid?

Connect a payout account under Settings → Payments and your dues and ticket revenue are paid out to your bank. You only need to do this when you start charging.

What about processing fees?

Payment-processing fees charged by our payment partners are separate from Circl’s cut and are always disclosed at checkout.

Account & settings

How do I switch between hosting and member views?

Open your account menu in the top-right and choose “Switch to hosting” or “Switch to member.” Circl remembers the space you last used.

How do I change my Circl’s cover or details?

Everything lives under Circl settings — the General tab covers your name, category, location, and cover photo; other tabs handle membership rules, payments, and your host profile.

How do I delete or archive my Circl?

Settings → Danger zone lets you archive a Circl (reversible) or delete it permanently. Archiving hides it without losing your data.
