Is Circl free for members?
Joining and browsing are always free. If a host charges dues or sells event passes, the host sets that price and you see the full total — their price plus the service fee — itemized before you pay. When an event offers ticket tiers, your membership covers the base ticket and you only pay the difference for a higher tier.
What does it cost to host?
Nothing to start, and nothing to run. There's no monthly subscription and no per-member fee — you get every hosting tool for free. When you sell a paid membership or an event ticket, you receive the full price you set; Circl's cut is added to the buyer's total instead of coming out of yours.
When does Circl take a cut?
Only when money actually changes hands — on paid memberships and event tickets. Free Circls and free events never cost a thing. The cut is 5% + $0.50 per paid transaction, and payment processing from our payment partners is on top of that. Both are added to the buyer's total and shown as a service fee at checkout.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. Create your Circl, invite people, and run events without entering a card. You only connect a payout account when you decide to start charging.
How do refunds work?
Refunds are handled case by case between you, the host, and Circl support. Platform fees are non-refundable except where required by law. The details are in our Terms of Service.
